Chch dual slalom series #1 1st round of the Christchurch Dual slalom series is now on this weekend, May 3 from 12pm.
Course is on the airstrip at the top of Victoria park. There will be flags marking out the course on the grass to the left of the airstrip looking down the hill.
It's super low key so no entry fee, practice will run for an hour or so then elimination will begin with a random draw and we'll try to make sure all the people knocked out in the first round get a second chance.
Come along to watch or have a go at one of the most exciting disciplines of mountain bike racing!!
Race will be cancelled if it is wet, check www.vorb.org.nz for updates ...posted 28 Apr 2008 |

BikeHQ Downhill Series 2007 Information For 2007 we have changed the series to pre-entry and have limited the number of riders to 100. This is so we can plan transport in advance and you will get more practice runs in without the long delays we've had in the past with registration for 100+ riders. As with the Canterbury Champs, the BikeHQ series is only open to club members.
If we don't have 100 pre-entries then a number of on the day entry spots will be made available on a first come first served basis, these will be advertised here the week before the event and will be $30 for members.
Please download and complete the Entry Form and return to us with payment via mail. If you are Under 18 you must also have your parent or guardian complete and return the Parental Consent Form.
If you know anyone who can help with Driving or Marshaling we would apreciate if they fill in the Volunteer Form and return that with your entry. The form details what is involved with the various jobs, if we don't have enough volunteers we simply won't be able to run the race, so please encourage your parents, friends, and family. You will get a credit on your race entry for the day(s) they help out and they will recieve lunch, a gift voucher from BikeHQ, a cold beer afterwards and our eternal gratitude.
The dates for the series are as follows:
Round 1 - 28th October
Round 2 - 18th November
Round 3 - 9th December
Tracks will be announced closer to the dates, and choices will depend on conditions.
Cost for the series is $80 for members, $100 for non-members, which includes your membership, please fill in the Membership Form if you aren't a current financial member of Gravity Canterbury.
